Daddy Maxfield
Recently featured on "A Month Of Matinees" by film and television director Edgar Wright, Radio 6, BBC were a band formed by American guitarist Lou Maxfield (a/k/a Lou Naktin, often spelled Natkin) and vocalist Graham Daddy. The duo met in Los Angeles while signed to Birzarre Management/3rd Story Music (Alice Cooper, Frank Zappa, Linda Ronstadt, Tom Waits, Fred Neil). Upon leaving Bizarre they immigrated to the U.K, met Micky Most, recorded the ever wonderful "Rave ‘N’ Rock," signed to PYE Records/ATV Music. "Rave ’N’ Rock" was an instant club hit and has become an Internet favourite. Recently included on Sanctuary Records release, Glitter From The Litter Bin. The song remains a favorite of film and television director Edgar Wright, as well as many other notables. After returning to the U.S. in ‘76 to sign with RCA Publishing United Artist Records, the pair cut the dance classic "I’ve Always Been In Love With You." The track has been sampled by Larry Levan, Todd Terry, as well as many other luminaries of the Dance world and has become a staple of the Northern Soul movement (UK). Surprising, as Daddy Maxfield were primarily a Pop/Rock band. Even more surprising, the track was produced by Country phenom, Jim Ed Norman whose production work includes Hank Williams Jr, Anne Murray, Glen Fry, Michael Martin Murphy, Chrystal Gayle, Kenny Rogers, etc. Jim Ed was also the string arranger for The Eagles (Desperado, etc.). as well as various recordings by Linda Ronstadt.
Upon teaming up with record producer and Rhino Records co-founder Harold Bronson, the duo changed their band name to The Ravers, co-wrote and recorded "It’s Gonna Be A Punk Rock Christmas," which to this day is one of the most popular Rock Christmas recordings, receiving thousands of plays on the Internet, radio, as well as being one of the most downloaded holiday track on the web.
Lou Maxfield went on to play lead guitar for Ray Manzarek’s shortlived band, Nite City. He also worked with Robby Krieger during the recording of "Panic Station" by The Acid Casualties.
Some of Lou’s most influential guitar work can be heard on Joan Jett ''Bad Reputaion'' album as well as Joan’s ''Greatest Hit'' collection. Produced by Kenny Laguna and Ritchie Cordell. He is also featured on the ''I Love Rock And Roll'' album and has received a platinum award for his work.
Maxfield has also recorded with Terri Nunn (Berlin), Greg Errico (Sly And The Family Stone).

Recently, he received a Gold Record Award for The Monkees Greatest Hits, Rhino/Warner Brothers for his work on "Heart And Soul" taken from the 1987 release, "Pool It." Many of the tracks can be found on-line.
Other works by Lou Maxfield include "Ecstasy" by The Honeys. Under the moniker Lou Naktin, co-wrote "Go Away Boy" with Brian Wilson, Marilyn Wilson, Diane Rovell and Ginger Blake for the project.
Other writing credits include the "Love Theme" for ''Stepfather III''.

"Here We Go Again"/"One Kiss" for Pops Fernandez, major hit in the Philippines.
Due to health issues, Lou hasn’t been on the road since the mid ‘90s, but returned to the studio in ‘02 for a collaboration on Alex McEwan’s album, "Beautiful Lies." One of his co-writes-productions titled, "Make A Wave" (including former band member, Graham Daddy) became a favorite on BBC Radio 2, BBC, summer of ’05. Alex went on to a UK tour with Katie Melua.
Lou co-wrote and arranged several of the songs on Will Kevans album ''Everything You Do'', including the single, "Sand Makes A Pearl," a popular BBC Radio 2 in '09.
